Window Fog Video Transcription
Interviewer: I'm here with Brandon from Showroom Windows and Doors, and today we're talking about window fog. Right? We've all seen it. You may have experienced it if you have an older home. You’ve got these windows they’re supposed to be efficient they’re double pane but then they get the fog in-between. Where does that come from? Brandon: Foggy windows are usually the number one reason people even call to replace their windows. It's due to seal failure, depending on the type of frame we’ll determine why it happen. Old aluminum windows will get really hot and it melts the seal. Plastic vinyl windows expand and contract at such a high rate due to heat that it'll break the seal. So, it really depends on the type of window. Interviewer: Is it because they're cheap windows or just old? Brandon: Both, you know. Usually, cheap windows will fail faster. We were in a home yesterday, it was only a few years old and 30% of the house had seal failure. Interviewer: So how do you avoid that fog? Brandon: Quality Windows, you know, depending on the type of window frame you choose, will determine how long that window is actually going to last. Interviewer: What are you offering at Showroom to make sure that doesn't happen to people? Brandon: For seal failure, fiberglass would be your best bet. Fiberglass and glass are about the same materials made with the same product, so they actually expand and contract at similar rates. Interviewer: Alright, so the way to avoid window fog? Just call Showroom Windows and Doors!
